Com­posed between April and Decem­ber 2024.

Build­ing on pre­vi­ous work explor­ing “haunt­ed HVAC,” this piece takes that con­cept in a more organ­ic direc­tion through open-tuned gui­tars and odd­/loose­ly-held time sig­na­tures. The sound evokes what I start­ed call­ing a “tuned munic­i­pal building.”

Lo-fi pro­duc­tion tech­niques pre­serve imper­fec­tions and spon­ta­neous moments, cre­at­ing some­thing dark­er and more untidy than typ­i­cal ambi­ent music while blend­ing com­posed and impro­vised elements.

Mul­ti­ple lay­ers reveal new details with repeat­ed lis­ten­ing. Rec­om­mend­ed expe­ri­ence: on head­phones in bed or walk­ing around the city.
